Graduated from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.  Honorably served four years in the United States Marine Corps.  Held executive positions in both sales and marketing with General Electric Company.

     My wife, Joanne, and I have been selling and listing homes in Laguna Woods Village for a total of thirty some years. Joanne Porterfield

     In 1983, I received my California real estate license. My first company affiliation was with Century 21 Lake Viejo Realty. During the years 1984-1985, I was engaged in selling property in the Saddleback Valley and surrounding area. At the beginning of the year 1986, I relocated to The original sales office managed by Ross Cortese to sell exclusively in this community, which now has the name of Laguna Woods Village. In 2005, that original office's parent company, PCM Realty and Marketing, Inc. relocated the offices and became Laguna Woods Properties. To date, I have been selling & listings properties for over 20 years. 

     My home state was Oregon and I received a B.S. degree from Oregon State University Corvallis, Oregon. Graduate studies were completed in Portland at the University of Oregon Medical/Health Sciences School. I attained a Medical Technology certification with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. During my years in health care, I was employed at the Oregon Medical School and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
